’90 Day Bares All’ Spoilers reveal that Kenneth Neidermeier, and Armando Rubio go from living their separate lives in the US and Mexico respectively, to forming a union and Kenneth giving up his established life in Florida to move to La Mission, Mexico to be with the love of his life, Armando.
We rooted for them because Kenneth, as out and proud as he is, really didn’t know what he was walking into. Apparently, even though same sex unions are legal in Mexico, the country itself has a long way to go in terms of acceptance.
’90 Day Bares All’ Spoilers: Armando’s Dad doesn’t know
Kenny and Armando were harrassed the first time they went out publicly. This came right on the heels of their engagement and thoroughly humiliated Armando who was having trouble coming to terms with being out anyway.
Yes he is much more comfortable living his truth now, but in the beginning he has a difficult journey, and that journey was not made any easier by the fact that in spite of same sex unions being legal in Mexico, the office that issued the marriage license decided to give them a problem about it anyway and deny them, forcing them to have to get the civil rights office involved.
Thankfully after a lot of poking and prodding and the office finally telling them to stop calling, they got their letter stating that they could indeed get a marriage license, and there was much rejoicing.
At least among the people that knew, that is. Armando’s own family, even though he publicly came out on the show and was open with them one member of the family was conspicuously absent during that meeting, and that was Armando’s Dad.
He stayed in the house while Armando and his Mom, sister, and Aunt all discussed the fact that Armando was engaged to Kenny and they were now living together. Armando even did the brave thing and put the ring on during dinner and basically told his family to deal with it, they were together.
Armando’s Dad still doesn’t know. Arnadi’s Mom says she is fine with it, his sister has accepted it, but Armando’s Dad doesn’t know and that’s sad.
I’m not sure whether that’s because the rest if the family doesn’t think he can handle it or he’s just being willfully ignorant (something tells me it could be the latter), but it really affected Armando whenbe found that out, he was in tears over that fact. I hope that Armando’s Dad can come to terms with the fact that his son is LGBT soon. Stay tuned!!!
