When ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers heard Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman)’s goodbye was going to cover two days, January 10 and January 11, we expected a good and thorough outpouring of love for the character with plenty of flashbacks.
It could’ve been an all week affair, but it looks like it’s over in about 30 minutes.
There were some good build up moments to the show’s goodbye, but once the service started it felt super rushed with minimal flashbacks and lasted for maybe 10 minutes.
That’d be okay, but afterwards we were hit with a series of fast and brutal editing cuts that jumped us all around from Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) learning her mother was helping women stuck in sex trafficking in Amsterdam to her leaving.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – A week’s work in a single day
January 10’s episode was something else. It came across more like a weekly special that had to cover tons of ground rather than letting things develop naturally.
It’s not what ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers expected or wanted, but the reaction online so far appears to be favorable.
We all have different tastes, but the post funeral segments were bewildering. The show never cuts that fast from Carly learning what happened, to telling her family and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) being initially upset that she made the decision to leave on her own before he moved on in seconds, to her and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) leaving.
And by all rights, it looks like the adventure will continue and end on January 11, if the first of the two parter is anything to go by.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Finishing Bobbie’s work
It makes sense that Carly would want to finish her mother’s work, and it should be a fun adventure as it brings into focus a problem that’s been plaguing the world and has finally been in the news as of late.
We’re sure she and Felicia will run into some trouble as they look for Bobbie’s contact and try to help the girl Bobbie was at the time of her death.
We love the fact that this is Bobbie’s final act given her history and what she recovered from, we just wish it’d be given the attention it deserves.
Hopefully we’re wrong and they’ll give this storyline the time to breathe it needs, so we’re crossing our fingers.
