If there’s one rule ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers have learned that men in soap operas must follow is they’re idiots unless they’re older statesmen.
Seriously, it’s funny at how badly they misread situations or don’t see what’s obvious because they don’t feel the same way as the one crushing on them.
It’s normal for most of us when we’re teens, but we usually grow out of it by the time we’re adults. But then most characters in soaps are perpetual teens.
Such is the pickle Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will find himself when he invites Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) to a concert of a band they both like when Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) cancels.
The worst part is Summer is trying to be the good person and hold back, but her own brother is as aloof as Chance and on an unofficial date they go!

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers get how Chance may not see Summer’s crush on him or realize how intense if could become, but even now he’s too aloof for his own good.
Granted, he views her as a friend and he won’t take that next step, but will she?
Summer’s been trying, but being with Chance at a concert for a band they both like just has all sort of warning labels attached and Chance really needs to pay attention to what’s happening around him.
If something does happen, even if it’s benign like Summer hugging them when they get back and Sharon sees it, he could be missing a part of his anatomy men are attached too.

What’s going to prove interesting is whether or not it will be an innocent exchange between Summer and Chance, assuming the show decides to go this route.
If it is and Sharon loses her cool, it’ll put Chance in the position of defending Summer and Summer will try to keep him from doing that.
Sharon’s no stranger to fighting for her man as she and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had some good fights over Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and we’re sure she won’t have a problem pulling out some of her old tricks if needed.
But if Chance is the one standing between them to defend Summer, things are going to get pretty dicey before too long and we could have a fun love triangle develop.
