The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, have been on a long and arduous publicity tour in the US. Since they left the UK, they have been on a mission to capture the American public’s attention, and they have succeeded, but it’s for the wrong reasons.
Their Netflix documentary didn’t receive high praise from the critics. Commercially, it was a success. It’s like watching a car wreck; you can’t help but look.
Harry and Meghan Are Overexposed and Not Well-Liked
Meghan’s Spotify deal fell down the tubes because she isn’t open, and people can spot a fake when they hear it.
Meghan pretends to be genuine and wholesome, but she is a narcissist in disguise. People can see that. Hence, she received two minus percent approval ratings after their Netflix docuseries and her Spotify podcast called “Archetypes.”
Spotify executive Bill Simmons, who also happens to be the head of the company, remarked when Harry and Meghan parted ways with Spotify,
“I wish I had been involved in the Meghan and Harry leave Spotify negotiation. ‘The F***ing Grifters’ that’s the podcast we should have launched with them.” He followed that up with, “I gotta get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry, trying to help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories.”
Harry’s tell-all book, “Spare,” all but ostracized the royal family. He seemed more concerned with publicity than the feelings of the people he had known all his life.
Harry and Meghan are also overly concerned with their social status. They don’t do anything without garnering publicity, not even trick or treating with their kids.
Many Americans are starting to hate these two; it can’t be a coincidence. The public can practically smell their desperation.
The Duke and Duchess Have Become a Serious Joke
Harry’s popularity has taken a significant nosedive since Harry spewed all his family’s secrets all over the pages of his memoir.
The Duke and Duchess are the least popular of all the royals. The couple has suffered considerable humiliation from being made fun of on shows like “South Park” and “The Family Guy.”
“South Park’s” joke was highly amusing. The show’s characters based on the couple appear on “Good Morning Canada,” and Meghan holds a sign that reads: “Don’t look at us.” Harry’s sign says, “We do not want privacy.”
The show hysterically spoofed the two of them by calling the episode the “Worldwide Privacy Tour,” obviously poking fun at the couple asking for privacy while still demanding the spotlight.
Meghan was upset about it and expressed her sincere disdain, all the while refusing to watch it. Like many other celebrities, the pair take themselves so seriously they can’t even laugh at themselves.
“The Family Guy” mocked the couple by making fun of them for generating millions on “no one knows what” as the cartoon characters depicting Harry and Meghan are lounging by the pool.
Even though Harry and Meghan left the royal family to attempt to generate more positive publicity from the US, they have become a parody of themselves.
