Chancellor-Winters apparently needed the infusion of some investor’s cash. They were looking at possibly going public and were working on their IPO. As they were doing this, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) got cold feet.
Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) were moving ahead with their plan to take the company public when Devon decided to sue. He did not agree with their decision. He wanted his part of the company back since he disagreed with the IPO.
There was a lot of bickering and dissension between Devon and Lily. In fact, they got to the point where they really weren’t talking to each other. Their rocky relationship was having ripples across the Genoa City community.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) decided to step up and help. The dedication of the Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) Jazz Lounge made him realize how upset Neil would be by the family drama.
He decided to invest privately in Chancellor-Winters so that going public would no longer be necessary. That helped remove the point of contention between Devon and Lily, so they were able to reconcile.

Devon and Lily are surprised to hear that Victor Newman has sold his share of Chancellor-Winters. They don’t know who he has sold to, and he is unwilling to let the cat out of the bag. He is not able to tell them any details.
After doing some sniffing around, they find that the investor is most likely Mamie Johnson (Veronica Rudd) but they can’t figure out why. What does she want with a part of Chancellor-Winters?
She had a tumultuous relationship with Jill Abbott in the past. Could this by why she bought part of the company? Why does she want to keep her investment such a secret?
