“The Woman in Me,” authored by Britney Spears, has sold a whopping 400K copies and earned the number one spot on the Top Ten Best Seller list.
After just two days, Britney’s book is the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history, and copies of her book are flying off the shelves.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s Book Sales Are Floundering
Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Worthy” memoir fails to make a dent in the list. The new book in which she shares that she and her husband, Will Smith, have been separated for seven years is number 84 on the charts.
To be fair, Jada had the top three spot on the Amazon charts the week it was released on October 17th, but since the “Toxic” singer debuted her memoir, with all the buzz of a zillion bees behind it, Jada’s book has fallen flat.
The Amazon list indicates that only 166 people have left a rating on Jada’s book, and so far, 2,220 people have left a rating on Britney’s bombshell memoir, and it’s only been out since October 24th.
The pop princess seems to be on fire, and everyone wants to read about her life. There has been one revelation after another, and the headlines keep coming.
Britney is doing well for herself as a semi-retired songstress. She is entitled to 25 percent of the book’s profits and made $15 million for authoring it.
“The Woman in Me,” by Britney Spears Flies Off the Shelves
A triumphant Britney revealed the status of her book on Instagram. She shared the good news with her fans, and left the message,
“My story. My terms. At last. Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive!! Love you all!!”
Spears credits her best friend and manager, Cade Hudson, for helping her make the book a success. He encouraged her to write her truth for the world to hear. She has been the subject of heavy media scrutiny for a long time.
Britney is already starting to write a second memoir. This version will include the juicy details of her divorce from Sam Asghari and even more stories.
The “I’m a Slave for You” singer has said that she is happy that the truth is out in the open and feels a gigantic sense of relief.
When speaking about her book, “The Woman in Me,” and its shocking revelations, she said,
“It’s a beautiful clean slate from here!!! I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life!!! This is actually a book I didn’t know needed to be written, although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future.”
Jada’s book, which details her relationship with the legendary late rapper Tupac Shakur, failed to generate sales. “Worthy” also did not make it on the Publisher’s Weekly Top 25 and Barnes & Noble’s Top 100 list.
Interestingly, Jada’s memoir has made the New York Times bestseller list, but Britney’s hasn’t yet. It could have something to do with the lack of publicity Britney is doing for her book. As The New York Times itself said, “No TV, no podcasts, lots of Instagram.”
