‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoiler wants to send the biggest Happy Birthday greeting to Laura Wright (Carly Spencer). On Monday, September 11th, Laura turns 53 years old. The 5’6″ blonde has been the face of Carly Spencer since 2005. She is the fourth actress to play Carly, but she has filled that role for the longest amount of time.

Laura Wright was born Laura Sisk on the east coast. Born in D.C., she was raised in the city of Clinton, Maryland. When she was in high school, she made her debut into acting. She performed in several different plays.
Her first on camera role was that of Allison “Ally” Rescott Bowman in the soap opera Loving. She fufilled that role for five years starting in 1991. During that time, she also played that same character in a recurring role on All My Children.
In 1997, she took on the role of Cassie Layne Winslow on Guiding Light. She played that role for eight years. Finally, in 2005, she landed the role of Carly Corinthos. She has been playing Carly ever since.

Carly is a character who is loved by some and hated by others. However, Laura’s portrayal of the role has been noticed and awarded. She has been nominated seven times for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series by the Emmy Awards. Laura has also been nominated for the Favorite Actress on ‘General Hospital’ by SoapHub.
Laura won the title of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2011. She won the Favorite Actress on ‘General Hospital’ by SoapHub both in 2020 and 2021.

As mentioned earlier, Carly is the girl “you love to hate”. This is what she is known for. She has had feuds with most of the other female characters on the show. She is impulsive and can be hot-headed. Carly is also fiercely loyal to her friends and family. You want her in your corner and then she also drives you crazy at the same time.
