We have known for awhile that Roberta Laundrie wrote a letter to her son, Brian Laundrie, that said “Burn After Reading” on the envelope. What is unclear is if Brian actually read the letter I. Question and if there was anything if importance to the Gabby Petito case written inside it, turns out, there was.
In the body of the letter, Roberta Laundrie told her son that if it came down to it she would help him “bury a body”, it is unclear when this letter was actually written, and whether or not she was specifically referring to Gabby Petito as “the body” in question, but if the Petito family can somehow prove that this letter was written after Gabby died? Then the Laundries are in trouble.
Roberta Laundrie wrote letter to Brian Laundrie telling him she would help him “bury a body”!
Currently, the Petito family is suing the Laundrie family stating that they knew that Gabby was dead and wilfully kept the information from them to give their son Brian a chance to evade the law. As we all know Brian Laundrie was found a few weeks later, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Florida swamp.
The letter and a lot of Brian’s belongings, including the letter and a written confession was found inside his backpack close to his remains. For the longest time it was speculated that the letter might not exist and might just be rumor, but according to Steven Bertolino it does exist, and that is why the Petito family lawyer is fighting in court to get the Laundries to hand over the letter.
Steven Bertolino says that the letter is being taken out of context, and that it was an old letter that was written way before any of this went down, but we have no way of knowing how old the letter actually is, at least not at the moment. It still doesn’t look good that the Laundries ignored all of the Petito family’s attempts to learn the whereabouts of their daughter, so far there has been no defense of the Laundrie’s actions, so it’ll be interesting to see what is said in court. Right now the Petitoa are suing the Laundries for emotional distress, this will be the trial of the century. Stay tuned!!!
