Amy Halterman from 1000-Lb Sisters is showed off some of her Christmas decor. She recently shared pictures of her home and the Elf on the Shelf that she has been hiding for her children. She is having a lot of fun with the elf and this is her time to shine as a parent. She has always wanted to raise children and being part of something great for Christmas is just a small part of that.

In her new post on Instagram, Amy shared a picture of her elf. She captioned the picture, “Day 5! Dobby drinking plenty of water. Good job, Dobby. Stay Hydrated.” He is sitting by a jug of water, but some of her followers thought it was a jug of bleach at first glance. Many of her fans wrote about what they thought about the elf.

One wrote, “New house but same mess as usual. I wouldn’t be surprised if the roaches move in with you soon!” Another wrote, “Why did I think that was a bottle of bleach?” There were a lot of fans that asked her why the elf’s name was Dobby and she did mention that she and Michael Halterman are huge Harry Potter fans and Dobby is their favorite character.
More comments came in that gave Amy a lot of backlash for how messy her house is again. One of her followers wrote, “Amy does not know how to wash clothes, sheets, pillowcases, this chair cushion, etc.”
Another wrote, “People are saying why clean a baby seat if it’s going to get dirty again, are gross. Why? Because that’s where my child sits. I don’t want to sit in filth, so my child won’t either. That’s like saying why wash dishes, we’re just going to use them again. Better yet that’s like saying why wash clothes they’re just gonna be worn again.”
The elf got a lot of hate because some followers felt that he was very boring and that Amy hasn’t done anything fun. They compared her elf to others, but she is doing this for her very young kids. She does post every day to keep her fans updated on what is next for Dobby. This has made her fans feel happy that the boys get to take part in this for this Christmas season.
