The fire that started in Jay Leno‘s Burbank garage was so serious that he could have perished in it, but we now know that a friend of his may have saved his life.
From his hospital bed, Jay says this past Saturday, he was repairing a clogged fuel line on his 1907 White Steam Car. He claims that a fuel leak caused gasoline to spray on his hands and face. The comedian caught fire as a result of an explosion that was almost instantly caused by a spark. Jay claims that his quick-witted friend Dave was nearby and jumped on him, quickly dousing the flames.
The news of Jay’s severely burned left side of the face was first reported by TMZ. His hands had also been burned. He claims that he has third-degree burns right now and might require skin grafts. His eyes and ears were unaffected by the burns, as we previously reported.
Jay Leno NEARLY Died In A Fire, Saved By His Friend Dave
Jay, who was transported by ambulance to a nearby burn center, says he anticipates staying in the hospital for five to ten days. Jay reportedly postponed his numerous commitments for two weeks. We are happy to hear that he seems to be alright, and while he may be in the hospital at the moment, it sounds like he is going to be alright.
Get well Jay and we look forward to seeing you when you get out of the hospital. It is a good thing his friend Dave was there and was able to put out the flames quickly!
