It looks like the dating app Hinge has some explaining to do! The app keeps deleting YouTuber Tana Mongeau because it has basically accused her of impersonating herself! She posted on her TikTok page screaming about it – and we don’t just mean talking emphatically, at one point during the TikTok she actually did scream.
She said that Hinge was her only source of joy at the moment (how sad is that?) and she didn’t want to lose that so now she has taken to social media to shriek about how the dating app keeps deleting her for no good reason. Although that makes you wonder how many times people have actually used her picture for fake accounts.
Tana Mongeau removed for impersonating herself?
Sometimes that happens, you get a catfish and they steal someone else’s pictures for their own nefarious purposes and then string some poor sucker along for the ride. Usually if you have a huge following you are at risk of your pictures being stolen and used for that purpose.
Tana has a pretty big following, but is definitely not a household name so not everyone recognizes her, only social media savvy people do. Therefore it might be easy for someone to take a profile saying that they were her when they actually weren’t.
Another YouTuber and one of the cast members of 90 day fiancé, Stepanka Matto, actually talked about this happening in a long ago YouTube video. This was before she was on 90 day, back when people just knew her via social media and YouTube. Apparently she had a girl steal her pictures over on IG and catfish someone with them later which caused a lot of trouble for Stepanka later on.
She said that she had this happen several times so it wouldn’t surprise us one bit if Tana had the same thing happen over on Hinge. That being said you would think that since Hinge does have a paid subscription they would be able to verify with the payment information and let that be that but perhaps someone at Hinge customer service is… new. We’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Stay tuned!!!
