With the new season of Alaskan Bush People underway, many fans have been concerned about the fact that the network has barely touched on the issue of Bear Brown getting arrested. Bear has always been one of the Brown clan who has broken the rules, but this time around, fans were unsure why the network still allows him to be on the show and why they continue to tell his story after being arrested on domestic violence charges.
Alaskan Bush People: The Arrest
In March of 2021, Bear was arrested for”domestic violence assault in the fourth degree.” He was made to spend a weekend in jail and then released without bond. He had a court appearance in April and this all started just about a week before his wife, Raiven Brown announced that she was pregnant. This was the first and only time that these two have shared any difficulties in their marriage, however, in 2020, Raiven filed a restraining order against Bear.
Alaskan Bush People: Bear Brown’s Arrest Was Just Overlooked by the Show
At that point in time, she said that his “erratic” and “abusive” behavior was making her terrified to be around him. She also mentioned that he had been doing drugs. When their first son, River was born the couple was fighting over custody of him, but then somehow magically they got back together.
This relationship between Bear and River has been incredibly confusing for viewers. The couple has clearly been working on things and they ended up getting married in January.
Now that we have all been watching the show this season, fans think that the show is hiding something about these two and their relationship.
On Reddit, one user made the suggestion that Raiven could be the problem, they wrote, “I don’t believe her for a second. None of that family has ever shown any signs of violent behavior and we all know it wouldn’t have just been cut out of the show for that many years. Watch the way she acts from her debut on the show. I think she just saw the opportunity to be on television.”
Would the show hide domestic violence if they knew it was happening? Is this something that the producers would just sweep under the rug? We will just have to keep watching to see if any of these issues ever come up on the show and if we hear anything else about Bear and Raiven’s relationship.
