Actor Max Casella Claims He Didn’t Reach Puberty Until He Was 27-‘I Hadn’t Even Shaved’
That is certainly a profound statement, but not one without foundation. It turns out that Max had suffered from what is known as pituitary dwarfism. This is a type of deficiency that results in someone having very short height in comparison to the norm.
And in order to combat that process, Max has had to undergo some testosterone therapy in order to make sure that he is in a good place. In his comments, he said: “I have a malfunctioning pituitary gland from birth.
“[I] basically had to jumpstart my puberty by pumping me full of testosterone and growth hormones to get me to grow because it wasn’t happening. I was 25, and I hadn’t even shaved.”
Despite those hurdles, Max has come a long way since then. He is set to star in the series, Tulsa King, alongside none other than Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone. And having the opportunity to meet him has been one of Max’s highlights since he admitted having a poster of the actor on his bedroom wall.
Not only that, but by having the opportunity to act alongside a variety of big-name stars, Sylvester was the one who came out on top. Max’s following comments confirmed as much: “I’ve acted with a lot of big stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp.
“Sometimes it’s up or down, your experience with them, but nobody like Sly, who was such a superhero to my 10-year-old self. This was like my boyhood dream.” Max certainly had a lot of courage in opening up about this, as there was no obligation on him to do so.
And that should be commended in light of everything that he has been through and managed to have achieved. After all, his life could have turned out so differently. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
