Before his death, Aaron Carter was working on a sitcom, and it has been reported that the production will continue with the show in Aaron Carter’s honor.

The pilot episode of the show was completed by Aaron and company a month ago, according to “Group” writer and director Brian Farmer, who has now received permission from Aaron’s team to finish the project and dedicate it to him.

He said that the focus of the program is group therapy and the promotion of mental health awareness, both of which Aaron was reportedly keen to discuss while portraying a fictionalized version of himself. Aaron’s participation in the show gave him something worthwhile to strive for, Brian says, adding that he was a wonderful man and a great pleasure to work with.

When the pilot is finished, it will be pitched to networks. Samm Levine from “Freaks and Geeks,” Anne Judson-Yager from “Bring It In Again,” and Mike Starr from “Dumb and Dumber” and “Goodfellas” will all appear on the show.

His on-screen love interest Olive Chiacchia wrote on social media about losing her co-star over the weekend, stating, “I wish the world saw you the way I do, and saw your side of the story.”

The more we hear about the child pop star, the more it sounds like he was really trying to get his stuff together. Attending meetings, starring in this show, and battling his addiction. In the end, the addiction won, but it looks like he was trying everything he could to beat it. We’ll be watching ‘Groups’ if/when it finds a home and look forward to seeing how it honored him.
