Shia LaBeouf has confirmed that his mother, Shayna Saide, has passed away aged 80.Â
Shia LaBeouf’s Mother Dies Aged 80
According to reports, Shayna died on Saturday, 27th August 2022. During the course of that process, it is alleged that she had heart failure which caused a significant amount of pain during her final moments while she was at Los Angeles hospital.Â
And given that she did have an interest in spiritually, something which Shia has now embraced following his recent conversion to Catholicism, it was hard to see his mother in pain knowing she still had some unanswered questions.
In his comments, Shia said: “My mother was full of fear in her last moments: asking the doctor what this tube was and what that machine did. She was frantic. She was deeply interested in God and spirituality her whole life, but she didn’t know him. Hence her last moments.”
Nevertheless, it was not all doom and gloom. Shia happened to be raised in a household that had an interest in the Jewish and Christian faith as his parents were from different backgrounds.
And it was his mother who he praised for introducing the concept of God into his life, which was also helped by his personal demons. Shia admitted that he once considered committing suicide only to then not do so amid his role in the film ‘Padre Pio,’ where he played a monk that later led him to seek out Catholicism.Â
And it was the importance of faith that Shia will always remember her by. His following comments confirmed as much: “Her greatest gift to me was to promote, in her dying, the necessity of a relationship with God.
“Not an interest, not just a belief, but a relationship built on proof as tangible as a hug. Her last gift to me was the ultimate persuasion for faith.” Shayna may no longer be here, but she has left an everlasting impression on Shia in a positive way.
