In a strange turn of events, Kanye West‘s Donda Academy has reopened just hours after saying it had shut down, and this time it’s returning “with a vengeance.”
Around midnight on Wednesday, an email that TMZ had obtained was sent to Donda’s parents and students “Join us tomorrow morning in worship for the return of Donda Academy. With the help of our parents and community, we are back and returning with a vengeance! The children of Donda are going to change the world. Apologies for the late email! See you bright and early!”

Of course, the announcement of closure by email to Donda students around 4 hours prior must have caught everyone off guard. This email stated: “At the discretion of our Founder, Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately … THERE IS NO SCHOOL TOMORROW.”
It’s now unclear whether Kanye changed his mind or if the students’ parents decided to teach their children on their own, but either way, things are sticky. Wednesday night, Kanye posted about Donda on his new Instagram page.
It has been a very strange back and forth and with all the controversy surrounding Ye at the moment, we have to wonder what it has to do with the school. I understand Ye has made a fool of himself, but what have the children done to earn all this confusion and stress? It was also just announced that the basketball team was removed from a big tournament because of Ye’s comments, but they didn’t do anything.
Now it appears though that the school is open… again? The school intended to start fresh in 2023 and were only closing for the rest of the season, but what would happen to the kids?
