Renée Zellweger has criticised the use of anti-ageing products.

The 53-year-old is often lauded for her natural beauty, as she has defied the perception of what it means to be over 50. And this can be seen through her love life, as she is currently dating Ant Anstead, despite their 10-year-age gap.
But rather than endorsing any form of beauty treatments, Renée was adamant that the secret in staying young was to embrace your natural beauty.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, she said: “All those ads telling us we don’t need to look our real age if we just buy all their creams and their fixes and all that garbage they want to sell us…To be vibrant and beautiful you must embrace your age.”
And this policy was seen in her approach towards ageing. She admitted that she was not fazed by getting older. Instead, this provided an opportunity for her to let go of any prior expectations of conformity that she may have had to abide by in looking a certain way.
After all, she is in the acting industry where image is a significant part of the job. But with time these things become more immaterial, which is why she embraced it.
Her following comment confirmed as much: “Turning 50 felt like a whole new beginning without the nonsense, the point where you can stop listening to all those voices in your head and all those expectations and projections people have of you and become more authentically yourself.”
Nevertheless, not everybody was convinced by her comments. This was on the grounds that a large proportion of people in the Hollywood industry have had cosmetic work, or rely on products, in one way or another. And in the process, they felt she was not being genuine. One person wrote: “I mean, call the kettle black.”
