A 31 year old parking attendant working on ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ was shot and killed while working in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The worker was just sitting in his car on Tuesday, July 19th, at 5:15AM in the morning when a gunman approached the vehicle and opened the car door then proceeded to shoot him multiple times in the neck and head.
Police says it appeared to be a targeted hit, and residents who witnessed the crime thought that it was all part of the TV show. NBC Universal issued this statement via social media: “We were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result. We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends…”
Man shot and killed on ‘Law & Order’ set
The NYPD was on-scene for hours gathering evidence and IDing the shooter. The victim’s family has been informed, his name was Johnny Pizarro, he was only 31 years old. It’s awfully chilling that you could be working in arguably one of the most safest environments, the set of a TV show, and still risk dying by gun violence.
No one who woke up and went to set that morning ever thought that that was going to be their last call ever to go to set. It also gives you the feeling that literally no one is safe, especially since this poor guy seemed to just be a parking attendant on a movie set.
He was literally paid to put up signs saying that people had to move their cars during certain hours, what on earth kind of ire could that have instilled in someone to make them want to murder him? It could have always been a case of mistaken identity, and it could have just been someone really ticked off that they had to move their car – but that’s not the parking attendant’s fault at all. It looks like Law and Order may have its own case of Law and Order to solve… stay tuned!!!
