Jerry Harris, the star of ‘Cheer,’ has reportedly been sentenced to 12 years in jail for child pornography offences.

Reports indicate that Jerry pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography, as well as travelling with the intention of committing unlawful sexual conduct. This sentence is drastically less than what could have emerged with initial claims that Jerry could have faced up to 50 years in prison.

And yet, there are still some additional measures that he has been ordered to undertake to show rehabilitation. A source told TMZ the following: “Harris has been ordered into 8 years to pay $35,000 into AVAA crime victims fund, along with court-supervised release after imprisonment.”

This news has most likely ended Jerry’s career, given that it will be very hard to bounce back from this. He has admitted to the crime and been charged as a result, which clearly demonstrates that there would be safety issues at hand if he were allowed on a set.

Not only that, but his peers have already indicated that they do not want to associate with the star any longer in light of what they know now.

Monica Aldama, who happened to be Jerry’s cheerleading coach, previously reacted to the news with the following comments: “Our children must be protected from abuse and exploitation, and I’m praying hard for the victims and everyone affected.”

The fans on social media backed the verdict that was given. People were of the view that this would send a strong message to others engaging in similar activity that they would be held to account.

One person wrote: “That is the very least that he deserves.  People who commit these kinds of crimes, don’t get better.  If he is let out of prison, he will offend again.”

Hopefully, this verdict will give all those impacted the opportunity to heal and move on. And after everything that has happened, that it the most important thing. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
