Not even Riverdale could compete with the likes of this story. Recently, ex Riverdale star, Ryan Grantham, who played Jeffrey Augustine in the show, shot his Mother, Barbara Waite, in the back of the head as she played piano in their home.
In the months leading up to the murder, Grantham had said that he felt hopeless and had even considered suicide at one point but instead turned his rage toward the Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. It’s not said why he wanted to wipe Trudeau off the map, just that that was his ultimate goal as it was revealed in the court case. It was called a “heartbreaking breach of trust” and indeed it is.

The reason given for killing his Mother is just tragic, he said that he didn’t want to subject her to the violence he was about to do to other people, so he got rid of her first so that she wouldn’t be witness to any of it. It’s chilling to think that someone could turn that viciously on the human that gave them life.
Although it does make an interesting argument, this boy allegedly had everything, a successful acting career, had been in Riverdale, Supernatural, and even Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and people knew his name in the industry, but yet he turned to violence anyway. So what actually made him go over the edge?
According to the case, he had felt like a failure for whatever reason and it was some sort of revenge for that. He came ready too! His car was packed with ammo, three different guns and 12 Molotov cocktails! He also had camping supplies and a map to Rideau cottage where Justin Trudeau lives!
It was said that he also wanted to shoot people on Vancouver’s Lions Gate Bridge or the Vancouver university where he attends college. He only drove a few hours east before turning around and turning himself in at the Vancouver police department complete with the confession, “I shot my Mom.”
Not before he apparently covered his Mother’s body with a sheet and lighting candles all around, he may have been sorry but he wasn’t so sorry that he didn’t go out to get cash and proceed to buy weed and beer and experiment making those Molotov cocktails, then he went to bed, according to his police statement.
He wrote a note telling his Mother how sorry he was and apologizing to his sister, Lisa, who stumbled upon her Mother’s body after not hearing from her for two days. “How can I trust anybody when my only sibling chose to execute my Mom when her back was turned?” she said in her statement in court. Currently, Grantham faces life in prison.
