Things are definitely not going very well for him. There’s a new report that says Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle has landed in a hospital after suffering a massive stroke. Here’s what you need to know.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father Thomas Markle has been admitted to hospital after suffering a stroke. Markle, 77, had reportedly been planning to fly to the UK in June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with hopes to meet members of the royal family and his grandchildren. On Tuesday morning, however, he was rushed to hospital after having a stroke.
Thomas Markle Lands In A Hospital Following Massive Stroke
Markle was reportedly unable to speak and was said to have been communicating with paramedics by writing his symptoms on a piece of paper. Royal journalist Dan Wootton also reported on Markle’s stroke, with the journalist claiming that Meghan’s father is currently receiving “urgent medical treatment” in hospital.
According to Wootton, the duchess’s father was meant to appear on a TV special about the Platinum Jubilee on his GB News show in the coming days.
If that weren’t enough, Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle told Daily Mail, “My father is recovering in hospital. We ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing. He just needs peace and rest.”
Back in 2018, Samantha slammed Meghan for commemorating Nelson Mandela when she tweeted, “How about you pay tribute to your own father?! Enough is enough. Act like a humanitarian, act like a woman. If our father dies, it’s on you, Meg!”
Before his stroke, Thomas was planning to visit the UK for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. He said: “I’m looking forward to it. I’m going to show my respect for the Queen and I’m going to make sure that the Queen understands that my entire family respects the Queen and the royals. We admire them and we want them to know that’s how we feel about them and that’s how we feel about England.”
