The reality TV star has been caught up in a triangular dispute involving herself, Kanye and Pete Davidson as she navigates a relationship with the latter in an and amongst Kanye’s social media outbursts.
While Kim could be forgiven for hiding the stress away from her children, the very fact of the matter is that she has done anything but that. So much so that she admitted she is very open with her children about her issues.
In an interview with ABC, she said: “I’m really open and honest with them. The younger ones don’t understand as much, but as far as with my two older ones, they know what’s going on. [I will] be there for them no matter what, even in this crazy life that we live.”
Kim’s approach is ultimately a double-edged sword. Firstly, if she were to conceal what was happening from her kids, it was bound to get out, especially since the whole world is aware of Kim and Kanye’s issues.
Secondly, by revealing all to her children, she may inadvertently spoil the relationship that they have with their father. After all, would Kim be able to stay objective in her comments?
Nevertheless, she vowed to continue doing what she thought was best. She added: “I think that, at the end of the day, everyone has their own way of communicating. I’ve always been, like, a champion of him speaking his truth and I would always want that.”
The reaction on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people understood Kim’s point of view, whilst others felt that this policy was going to turn the children against her father.
One fan wrote: “Good ! Kids need to be briefed on parents marital affairs it prepares them for life and builds character,” while another person stated: “Do they “know” about her sex tape?”
