Cardi B has deleted her Twitter account, as a result of backlash she had received for not attending the Grammys.
Cardi B Deletes Her Twitter Account After Her Kids Were Mocked Because She Did Not Attend The Grammys-‘I Hate This F–kin Dumbass Fan Base’
The singer would have had every reason to attend by virtue of the fact that she was one of the nominees. Cardi had been nominated for Best Rap performance but decided that she did not want to attend. And this did not go down very well amongst her fanbase, who made their feelings clear.
While that may have been the case, Cardi felt that their criticism had crossed the line, especially since some abuse was being directed towards her kids. In a statement at the time, she said: “I’m deleting my twitter but On God I hate this f–kin dumbass fan base.
“When the f–k I hinted I was going ? just f–kin stupid I can’t I needs to protect myself.” Once Cardi had made sure she justified herself, she responded to all those that were slamming her children. And in typical fashion, she did not hold back on her words.
After all, regardless of what you think about the star’s decision to skip the ceremony, we can all agree that her children were innocent in all of this. This was particularly true since one of the trolls claimed that her child was suffering from autism.
That is when Cardi lost control. She added: “None of my kids are autistic…don’t project wat u got on my kids the f–k.” The response on social media was equally damning. People rallied behind Cardi on the basis that she had been an innocent party to all of this.
In the process of doing so, people recognised that cyberbullying was a major problem. One person wrote: “My thoughts and prayers are with cardi and her family. I hope she is able to recover from this.”
It is not clear whether this is going to be a short-term decision, but regardless of what Cardi decides to do, it is safe to say that she will always stand up for herself. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
