Five year old Summer Wells has been missing since June 15th 2021, and according to the investigators on the case, the case has not moved forward at all during these five months. According to Summer Wells’ Mother, Candus Wells, she had been planting flowers out front with her and her Grandmother and then decided to go back inside the house.
When Candus and Grandma finished planting the flowers, they came back in and asked “Where’s Summer?” to which her brothers replied, “She went down to the basement to play.” Candus went down to the basement to look for her – and Summer was gone. Her Father, Don Wells, was at work during the time of the disappearance.

Local Police and TBI searched the property and the property surrounding the Wells’ house for weeks to no avail – and now things are at a standstill in the case. The theory is that little Summer was ether abducted, or if she did go back outside she went off the side of the ravine in the back yard which is very steep.
However, we’ve learned by now through the media and both the Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie cases that if there’s a dead body around, there will be wildlife around – and there’s been no reports of wildlife in the area – or at least the Wells’ family has not reported any.
There is also a theory being floated around that someone was parked at the bottom of the ravine, went up and potentially got Summer out of the house (or out of the back yard if they saw her) and walked her down the steep ravine and drove off with her.
They have a possible description of the vehicle, a red 1998-2000 maroon or red Toyota Tacoma with a full bed ladder rack along with white buckets in the truck bed. This information was given to the Tennesse Bureau of Investigation by a neighbor who says that she thought she heard a scream during the time that Summer was abducted.
There is also the idea that she may have been trafficked, which is just frightening to think about with any person of any age, but especially one as young as five.
In an interview with the Dr. Phil show just a week ago, Candus Wells didn’t want to go on the show and be interviewed by Dr. Phil and at one point during the interview she took off her microphone and left the stage, crying, prompting some to speculate that Candus Wells knows more about what happened to Summer than previously thought.
In an interview with NewsNation Now, Don Wells, when questioned said that he was pretty certain that Candus did not know what happened to her daughter, but that “the biggest mistake she could have made was choosing some wrong friends”, no one knows what that means, but Don Wells has never said that before. So it begs the question, which ‘wrong friends’ did he mean? Stay tuned!!!
