Prince Charles is understandably pissed that a lot of people think he’s a racist, especially now that there’s a book coming out that supposedly details a conversation he had with Camilla Parker Bowles about how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children would look like.
In fact, author Christopher Andersen suggests that Charles was simply pondering about how the kids would look like, just as any grandparent would. Instead, Charles believes that his comments have now been “weaponized” as part of a long toxic feud between himself and the Sussexes. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Charles Is Pissed Everyone Thinks He’s A Racist
According to the new book “Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan,” he says that the conversation about Harry and Meghan’s future children and their skin color occurred on the same day that they got engaged in 2017. Apparently, Prince Charles sat down for breakfast and mused to his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, “I wonder what the children will look like?”
Camilla was “somewhat taken aback” by the question and replied, “Well, absolutely gorgeous, I’m certain.” Lowering his voice, Charles asked: “I mean, what do you think their children’s complexion might be?”
But Aunderson says that Prince Charles’ words might have been taken out of context by the press. He said that the future king of England only mused about “what [his] future grandchildren might look like” in a “very benign way.”
“I mean, here’s this beautiful biracial American woman and the world’s most famous redhead,” Andersen said of then-actress Markle and Charles’ younger son, Harry, when they got engaged almost exactly four years ago. “I’m a grandfather … we all do this,” the author insisted of pondering how future family members will look. But it was turned into something very toxic. It was weaponized, really, by the men in gray who run the palace organization.”
During their interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March, Harry and Meghan suggested that a senior member of the royal family was so racist that he or she was concerned about the color of Archie’s skin.
