‘The Bachelor’ alum, Tia Booth has shared some very sad news on her Instagram this weekend.
The popular Bachelor Nation star revealed that her father, Kenny has died after a battle with colon cancer.
“Thank you Daddy for teaching me how to protect myself, how to take a shot of tequila, and most importantly how to be an independent woman that doesn’t rely on anyone else for success (except you when my car breaks down),” the 30-year-old from Arkansas wrote while posting a series of photos and videos of she and her father. The final photo showed Tia’s birth announcement from all the way back in 1991.

The caption continued, “After a year-long fight, I’m so thankful you’re free from cancer’s evil grip. Keep an eye on me & Mama and keep on dancing in Heaven .-your little girl.”
Tia had opened up about her father– who made an appearance on the ABC dating show alongside his daughter– and his stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis back in March of 2021.
“Although not curable, we are all thankful it’s treatable with Chemo,” Tia had shared at the time. “Dad said it was boring, but he had a tv, ice water& a recliner so he had it made, if you wonder why I handle stress with humor, there it is. Hoping for minimal side effects and that he’ll handle treatment like a champ-so far so good!”
Tia is best known for appearing on season 22 of The Bachelor, competing for the heart of Arie Luyendyk Jr. Kenny Booth appeared on the same season when Tia brought Arie back to Weiner, Arkansas for a hometown date. At the time, audiences applauded him for being protective of his daughter and confronting Arie about his playboy reputation.
Tia then appeared on season 5 of Bachelor In Paradise where she reconnected with her ex-boyfriend, Colton Underwood. Colton dipped out of Paradise when he was cast as the season 23 Bachelor. The former football player later came out as gay.
Tia again showed up in Paradise for season 7 of the show but left single once more. However, as she goes through this trying time, she does have her boyfriend (not found on television) Taylor Mock, by her side.
She also has the condolences and prayers of her Bachelor Nation co-stars and fans.
