It looks like all the money in the world can’t erase the foul smell of stinky fish. There’s a new report that says a foul smell has surfaced in the affluent neighborhood of Montecito, California that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happen to call home. And yes, it’s very much a stinky situation. Here’s what you need to know.
According to new reports, Harry and Meghan’s neighbors in the upscale Santa Barbara community “disgusted” by the pungent fragrance have reportedly complained about the issue to no avail. The scent is apparently coming from the nearby Andree Clark Bird Refuge, which is a 42-acre saltwater marsh and one of the largest wildlife refuges in the area. The water is reportedly “stagnant” which has led to a strong odor in the area.

“It smells like an offal that has been rotting in the sun. It makes my stomach churn,” a Montecito resident has said. This might or might not be one of the reasons why the Sussexes are looking to get out of the area. Apparently, the couple is not feeling “over the moon” with the luxury property that they purchased back in 2020.
According to the Daily Mail, Harry and Meghan are looking for a new place to raise their family, which includes their 2-year-old son and their six-month-old daughter, Lilibet. One source close to the situation told the Daily Mirror, “They are thinking of selling their house there. However, it won’t be on the market because of who they are.
It’s only being shown to people who are confirmed with funds and are serious buyers. They want to stay in the neighborhood or nearby but they aren’t over the moon about the house and the location.”
So far Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made any comments about the matter, although it’s doubtful that they will. Either way, it doesn’t look like they’ll be going to London anytime soon either, where they left an even bigger stink back in 2020.
