Janet Jackson has shockingly revealed how her family would often comment about her body in light of her weight issues.

These revelations are all part of Janet’s new documentary entitled ‘Janet’ which marks her return to the music industry with a new album set to be released this year.
And as part of that attempt to rebrand herself, Janet is making sure that she lets her fans know about some of the most intimate parts of her life.
This included none other than the interaction she had with her late brother and music icon Michael Jackson. The latter had apparently commented on her body, which would often not be the most pleasant of things.
In the documentary, Janet is alleged to have stated the following: “There were times when Mike used to tease me and call me names.
“Pig, horse, slaughter hog and cow. It wasn’t out of malice on his part at all. Brothers tease sisters, sisters tease brothers and it was just fun and funny.”
Although there was no malice intended, the very fact of the matter is that these comments did have an impact on Janet’s confidence. This was most visibly seen in her 2011 self-help book entitled ‘True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself.’
It is here where Janet discussed her problems with confidence, which was one of the reasons why she had taken a break from the industry given the increasing amount of scrutiny there is on image. That is why Michael’s comments about her hit home.
She added: “But, then there was somewhere down inside that would hurt when you have someone say ‘you’re too heavy’ even if it was out of love, it affects you.”
Janet has certainly taken a lot of courage by speaking out about her problems. And in doing so, she has shown herself to be very vulnerable which is only going to endear her to the fans.
And given that she is making a comeback to the industry, this is exactly the type of thing she needs to grow her fanbase. So there you have it folks.
