Jeff Wittek is no longer a member of the vlog squad due to an accident he sustained a while back when he and David Dobrik were doing vlogs together. It would seem that there was a crane involved and somehow, even though Jeff was reluctant, David convinced him after the first time when the stunt didn’t exactly work to get back out there and try it again because he wanted to film it.
Jeff did so and ended up with a very serious injury to his eye which almost left him permanently blinded, he ended up having to have eye surgery which ended up restoring his sight but was very painful.
David Dobrik Blames Jeff Wittek For Accident That Almost Blinded Him
Well, most recently Jeff found out that Dobrik decided to add insult to injury by blaming him for the stunt, even though Jeff was reluctant to do it.
Jeff said that the producer for the documentary that Dobrik was working on came to him privately and over facetime he showed him footage of Dobrik blaming him for the accident, calling Wittek “crazy”, a claim that Wittek maintains is “pure BS” and says he has 6 terabytes of footage to prove that Dobrik was the one who convinced him to go back out there and do the stunt again that he would spin the crane slow. He also says he had 20 witnesses on the beach to back him up that saw all of this. Whoops.
Wittek says that not only did the accident almost cost him his eyesight but that it ended up costing him a home too! Due to hospital bills that were supposed to be paid by Dobrik’s team, Wittek ended up getting an infraction on his credit and ended up not being able to get the house that he was trying to get.
It is really unfair because Wittek initially did not sue Dobrik for damages and instead relied on Dobrik as a friend to help him out and pay for the damages on a code of honor system, but it looks like Wittek may need to get tough and lawyer up after all if he wants his medical bills paid. Stay tuned!!!
