A TikTok video went viral after a user decided to mock a customer of the store after she refused to wear a mask and berated others for making her do it.
TikTok User Antagonises Woman By Filming Her Refusal To Wear A Mask In Store
Wearing a mask is ultimately a personal choice regardless of whether you agree with its effectiveness or not.
And that only ends up being a problem when people decide to enforce their will upon another person to the point where it is becoming a forced decision.
And that is precisely what happened in this case. In the video here, we can see that the woman is totally outraged at the fact that she is not being served because she refuses to wear a mask.
As she engages in a discussion with the workers, as to the legalities of the law, the TikToker is on hand to video this as they engage in a back and forth discussion.
Realising that they are not getting anywhere, things simply escalate. The video was captioned by the following comments: “These poor cashiers who literally do not get paid enough to be doxed by this woman for just doing their jobs.”
The video instantly went viral with over half a million views and counting. Naturally, the comments were very divisive in their nature.
A certain subset of people felt that the woman should have respected the rules of the store irrespective of whether she agreed with them or not. After all, it was their establishment coupled with the fact that the workers were simply doing their job.
Meanwhile, others felt that the TikToker was not helping the situation, as by filming it, he only went on to exacerbate the current tensions.
One person wrote:“No wonder everyone is quitting their jobs, not enough money in the world to deal with people like this.” This story only goes on to show just how divided society is becoming, as a result of the pandemic.
And given that people are already going through difficult times, this is the last thing that they will want to see. With that in mind, people on both sides of the fence have to be respected.
