The star may be known for his film role, but little is known that he is a python hunter. And this story only goes on to show his toughness.
Dusty had been a passenger in a truck that had ended up crashing. According to reports, a wheel had been punctured on the highway in Florida.
As such, the driver lost control of the car, resulting in the vehicle flipping and the windows being broken. As a consequence, Dusty’s leg had been crushed by the weight of the vehicle.
He was subsequently taken to hospital, where he required extensive surgery in order to allow the doctors to save his leg. But looking back, things could have been a whole lot different.
At one point, Dusty felt that he might have even died, given the severity of the crash. Once he realised that this was the case, he decided to act quickly in the hope of staying alive.
According to TMZ, Dusty had done the following: “[He was] using his shirt as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding as he tried to keep himself awake waiting for paramedics from the side of the highway.”
In response, the community has come out in droves to support Dusty with the medical expenses and to make sure that he is fine in general. Given that Dusty had no medical insurance, he was in dire need of support.
As a result, a GoFundMe had been set up to encourage people to buy some holiday gifts from his store. And by the looks of it, people have stepped up to the plate.
As of now, over $16,000 has been raised, and this is almost close to the target of $20,000. Luckily for Dusty, he lives to survive another day.
And if he can get back to his usual self, he can add this to the list of experiences that he has had in his life which are nothing short of truly remarkable.
