A TikTok video has gone viral after a woman alleged that the former boy band member of the hit group Owl City, Daniel Jorgensen had sexually assaulted her.
Woman Claims She Was Sexually Assaulted By Owl City Boyband Member Daniel Jorgensen
In the following video, the TikTok user @ambermaedee, otherwise known as Amber, can be seen pictured next to Daniel at what looks to be some sort of a club.
They are standing next to each other, as they smile at the camera for what looks to be a happy time. Over the video, we can see the following words: “I was far too scared to speak out.”
It is clear that Amber is in distress, given the manner of her facial expressions. But the rise of movements such as the #MeTooMovement has made it easier for victims to come forward.
As such, now was the time for Amber to tell her fans exactly what had happened in the hope that it would stop others from being trapped in a similar position.
In the video, Amber is heard saying: “That’s the thing with assaulting children and abusing fans. The survivors find each other and stick together.”
The video instantly went viral with over eight million views and counting. But looking back, it is noticeable that Daniel has been in trouble with the law when it comes to engaging in inappropriate behaviour.
According to the Associated Press, Daniel had decided to plead guilty to being lewd with a child. This had apparently occurred in 2017 when he confirmed that he had exposed himself to another minor girl, who happened to be 13 at the time.
As a consequence, Daniel was charged with sexual offences and ended up doing probation for a matter of two years. Despite her bravery in coming forward, the incident has left an ever-lasting impression on Amber.
But had it not been for the support of her family and friends, Amber would have found it very difficult to overcome this. Her following comments confirmed as much: “Processing this trauma fucking sucks.
“But through therapy and a really great support system with my family, friends…I’m definitely able to process this better, but it’s still a struggle every day.”
