Amid all the negative buzz surrounding the Duggar family you would think that the last thing that any of them would do would be to try and run for political office, right? Most people would bury their heads in the sand and wait until it was safe to come out again, or at least until the trial was over. (Josh Duggar is slated to be tried in November so irs not like they would be waiting that long.)

But not JimBob Duggar! JimBob has decided to try and distract the public from the absolute circus that the trial will be (come on, let’s not kid ourselves here) by running for Arkansas State Senate. Honestly we’re not entirely sure if that will be distracting from the circus or just adding to it.

‘Counting On’: Our guess would be the latter.

Of course it’s no surprise that JimBob’s platform is uber conservative, pro gun and pro life, in his statement he says that it’s time conservatives demanded strong leadership and of course as a lifelong resident of Arkansas he is proud to be running for office.

Notice how similar his platforms are to Josh Duggar‘s own platforms when he was in politics? It is speculated that this is JimBob’s ploy to divert attention away from Josh’s trial and put the attention on his run for senate rather than the negative attention that will undoubtedly be on the family during the month of November.

It’s also speculated that this is his plan to come out smelling like a rose and get much of the negative press off of himself.

Because Josh isn’t the only one that people are looking at. Considering the past scandals and the fact that Josh’s troubles started at home and weren’t just indiscretion practiced between consenting adults, a lot of scrutiny has been placed on the parents, JimBob in particular because he always projects himself as head of household and always in control when clearly that was not the case.

Somehow Josh’s problem went unnoticed until it was far too late and that is garnering a lot of criticism from everyone, including former supporters. Another reason it is speculated that he is doing this is to step in and save Josh because Josh maintains that his civil liberties were violated when he was not read his miranda rights (even though he declined) and he agreed to have his hands and feet photographed by authorities.

A judge has thrown out that case but we’ll see if that ever comes up on the docket of JimBob’s platform. Stay tuned!!!
