It sure feels nice to get away from the kids once in awhile, right? That’s what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must be thinking to themselves as there’s a new report that they will be taking a trip to New York City later this month, which will be there first trip out of the state of California since moving there in March 2020.
The royal couple will be appearing at the Global Citizen Live this weekend, which will be in Central Park and broadcast live. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Taking A ‘Romantic’ Trip To New York City
According to Page Six, Harry and Meghan are not bringing their two children, 2-year-old Archie and three-month-old Lilibet for the trip. Instead, the kids are expected to stay at home in Montecito, Calif. Even though Harry has taken two trips back to the UK so far this year, this will be his first trip with Meghan as a couple since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The royal couple will be speaking at the event about the importance of achieving global vaccine equity on the Great Lawn of Central Park on Saturday, Sept. 25. The royal couple were campaign chairs for the Vax Live campaign, which called on businesses to donate money for doses and make vaccines available for not-for-profit prices.
“Over the past year, our world has experienced pain, loss, and struggle—together. Now we need to recover and heal—together. We can’t leave anybody behind,” they said in a statement at the time.
“We will all benefit, we will all be safer, when everyone everywhere has equal access to the vaccine. We must pursue equitable vaccine distribution, and in that, restore faith in our common humanity. This mission couldn’t be more critical or important,” Meghan and Harry continued.
