‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that some cast members who spoken out against the new Texas abortion law. The law bans most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy and went into effect on Wednesday.
Other states have already passed similar laws, however, the Texas law is the first to be implemented. The way the law has been written seems to make it difficult to challenge in court.
Many have already pointed out that six weeks seems a bit short, as many women may not know they’re pregnant until they’ve missed their period (or about four weeks), leaving a tough decision to be made in 14 days or less.
A few Y&R cast members have shared things on Instagram speaking out against the law.

Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) shared a quote from Ruth Bader Ginsburg, “The decision of whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman’s life, her well-being and her dignity.” As well as an image that repeated, “Men shouldn’t be making laws about women’s bodies.”
Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) shared a post from the ACLU that read, “BREAKING: The Supreme Court has not responded to our emergency request to block Texas’ radical new 6-week abortion ban, SB8. The law now takes effect. Access to almost all abortion has just been cut off for millions of people. The impact will be immediate and devastating.”
He also shared another image showing what the law does, including banning abortions after 6 weeks.
Hunter King (Summer Newman) also shared a post talking about the restrictions that are placed by the law from The New York Times.
This is an issue that’s taken the country by storm, and no matter your opinion or standing on it, this is what’s been laid out and these are what some of the cast members had to say about the law. You may be completely against it, or you may love it. No matter where you stand, please keep the comments civil. This is a delicate topic for the country and we just want to report what our favorite soap stars are up to on social media.
