Shaquille O’Neal is famous for all of his work in the world of basketball. He is one of the greatest players of all time and has now told his fans that he is done with people wanting him to be a celebrity. The former, La Laker, has had it with celebrities and wishes to throw out his celebrity status. His recent interview with the New York Post has him opening up more about life and how he thinks celebrities are a little bit crazy these days.
Shaq has bigger concerns for his life and his memory. He wants his fans to remember that he was kind to people before he was a celebrity.
Celebrity News: Shaquille O’Neal Is Not A Celebrity, According to Him
He told the Post, “These celebrities are going freaking crazy and I don’t want to be one. I denounce my celebrity-ness today. I’m done with it.” This all came up as he just signed on to do another ad with the Kellogg’s company. He went on to say, “I don’t want to be in that category. Celebrities are crazy, they really are. Don’t call me that anymore. These people are out of their freaking minds with how they treat people, what they do, what they say. That’s never been me. I never want o be looked at like that.”
O’Neal has made it a point in his life to take care of others and practice random acts of kindness. He tries to show his kindness everyday in any way that he can. He feels blessed and feels that this is the way to show others that they are important.
He retired back in 2011 and he has become popular now for helping those in need. He has done a lot of random things for his fans. He once paid for an engagement ring for one of his fans to give his fiancé. He recently helped out a restaurant in Atlanta because of how badly they were suffering during COVID-19.
He went on to say, “All my life, everyone probably gets stereotyped, but us celebrities, we get stereotyped because most of these celebrities are out of their minds. I don’t do that. I’m a regular person that listened, followed his dreams and made it. I came from nothing. But, just because I made it doesn’t mean I’m bigger than you, smarter than you- just because I have more money doesn’t mean I’m better than you. I’ve never been that way and I never will be that way. So I don’t want to be in that category of people.”
O’Neal has worked incredibly hard to get where he is now and it is great that he wants to do anything that he can to help others in his life. We praise him for not wanting celebrity status!
