Well, well, well. Look what we’ve got here. Joe Rogan, who happens to be one of the biggest and loudest voices of his generation, admits that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Yes, this is the same Joe Rogan who has repeatedly said on his podcast that young and healthy people shouldn’t get the vaccine. His The Joe Rogan Experience was acquired by Spotify in 2020, reportedly for more than $100 million. Here’s what you need to know.

According to new reports, Rogan said that he started feeling sick on Saturday night after he returned from performing in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale. He did not say whether he had been vaccinated. However, he did tell his 13.1 million Instagram followers he quarantined himself from his family and took a Covid test. It was positive.

Rogan added that he had been treated with “all kinds of meds”, including a steroid and a vitamin drip. “Throughout the night I got fevers, sweats, and I knew what was going on,” Rogan said, adding that he isolated himself from his family once he suspected it could be the virus. He also thanked “modern medicine” for “pulling me out of this so quickly and easily.”

“A wonderful heartfelt thank you to modern medicine for pulling me out of this so quickly and easily,” Rogan said.

Rogan has won legions of dedicated listeners by courting controversy on his show. Most recently, he faced criticism after saying that young and otherwise healthy people don’t need a COVID-19 vaccine.

“People say, do you think it’s safe to get vaccinated? I’ve said, yeah, I think for the most part it’s safe to get vaccinated. I do. I do,” Rogan said back in April.

“But if you’re like 21 years old, and you say to me, should I get vaccinated? I’ll go no. Are you healthy? Are you a healthy person?”

Rogan continued, “If you’re a healthy person, and you’re exercising all the time, and you’re young, and you’re eating well, like, I don’t think you need to worry about this.”
