Bill Cosby will no longer be hitting the road for a stand-up comedy tour as planned when the disgraced actor was first sprung from prison. Instead, the 83 year old is headed back to court to face more sexual assault charges.
Cosby’s team was gearing up for a US wide stand up tour and had been in negotiations with comedy club owners and promoters. This has all been shelved out of fears that the media will absolutely crucify the man (who claimed to be too frail for jail but was okay with touring the country) while he still has pending charges laid against him.
Bill Cosby Planned Comedy Tour Cancelled Due to Another Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Cosby’s accuser this time is Judy Huth. Huth’s civil lawsuit stems from the 70’s where Huth alleges Cosby pounced on her at the Playboy Mansion. Huth was 15 at the time (no word as to why a teenager was at the Playboy Mansion, but we will NOT *alleged* victim shame).
The sexual assault, suit hasn’t just cropped up since Cosby’s release but was actually filed in 2014. Cosby denied the allegations but the suit stalled while Cosby faced the Andrea Constand case that had him locked away…for a while. A trial date for Huth’s case has been set for Spring 2022.
While the official word from Cosby’s camp is that the tour has been shelved due to the “media storm” it would cause, other likely reasons are that Cosby doesn’t want to face what would be scores of hecklers and protesters. There’s also the danger of Huth’s lawyers potentially using his own comedy routine words against him in the case.

Andrew Wyatt, a spokesperson for Cosby assures that the cancelling of the tour is NOT to lack of interest. According to Wyatt, at least a dozen promoters have approached Cosby in regard to gigs.
No more word has been uttered about the supposed book Cosby was writing or when/if the 5 part docuseries covering his life, legacy, trial and prison experience will be released.
