‘Teen Mom’ alum Chelsea is ready to throw in the towel and stop posting photos of her 11-year-old daughter, Aubree, for Aubree’s protection.
This warning from Chelsea came after she had to fight back on behalf of Aubree against those commenting on the 11-year-old’s body. “It makes me sick, honestly,” the 29-year-old stated.
Aubree has been on television ever since her first daughter was in utero.
Chelsea was one of the teens followed on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant back in 2009. When the second installment of Teen Mom spin off was cast, popular Chelsea and her deadbeat bay daddy, Adam Lind were an obvious choice.
‘Teen Mom 2′ Alum Chelsea Houska DeBoer Slams Those Commenting on her 11-Year-Old Daughter’s Body
For ten years audiences watched Aubree grow, watch Chelsea free herself from Adam’s toxicity, fall into love with Cole DeBoer, marry and give Aubree three more siblings, Watson, Layne and Walker. Aubree also has a half-sister, Paislee from Adam and the girlfriend Taylor Halbur . Though Paislee has been adopted by Taylor’s new husband, Joe, Taylor and Chelsea, and sisters Aubree and Paislee remain close.
Chelsea only recently decided to leave Teen Mom after a decade of MTV cameras following she and her family around. However, she understands that, in those 10 years, fans have fallen in love with the entire Houska/DeBoer clan.
“I know you guys feel like you know Aubree. Someone was like, ‘We’re all her aunties,’ and I thought that was so cute,” Chelsea said during an Instagram Q and A.But the mom of four drew the line at body shamers or even commenters.
“She’s an 11, almost 12-year-old girl, and I don’t know why people feel like they can comment on her body in any way shape or form. It makes me not want to post her.” Chelsea said.
The South Dakota native’s decision to leave the popular MTV show was largely because Aubree was coming into her teen years.
“There just came a point — and I think it was a buildup almost — this feeling in my gut, or my heart, I guess,” Chelsea explained. “It just didn’t feel like I was supposed to be on that show anymore.
There were conversations that Aubree and I were having from time to time, and there came a point where I was just worried because I don’t want her to ever be [feeling] like she can’t tell me things because it’s going to be aired to millions of people or whatever.”
Since leaving reality TV, Chelsea has been active on social media, though it seems like another change, to protect her kids, could be made soon enough.
