‘Teen Mom 2’: Kailyn Lowry Opens Up On Her Struggle With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

The star is already a mother to four kids: Isaac, Lincoln, Lux and Creed. And yet, it has not put her off from the possibility of having more children in the future. One thing that has been stopping Kailyn has been her body. She suffers from a hormonal disorder that impacts her ovaries.

As a result, she has taken some drastic steps in order to leave the door open for expanding her family in the future.

During her appearance at the show’s reunion, she said: “I was doing [egg harvesting] first, and I’m glad I started doing it because then I found out I have PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome]. I’m not even saying I would have more [kids], I just want the possibility, if five years from now, I do meet the love of my life and we want to have kids, I have healthy eggs.” The impact of the diagnosis has been huge on her health.

Polycystic ovary syndrome can have a detrimental impact on the body, with symptoms including irregular periods, fertility issues, and even weight gain. And given that Kailyn is only 29-years-old, with her full life ahead of her, coming to terms with this has been a lot for her to take in.

She added: “The diagnosis has been a little bit overwhelming for me. The medication has insane side effects, and I’m just trying to figure out the best ways to manage the symptoms.” Nevertheless, she has vowed to continue on by looking for the appropriate treatment.

After all, she has promised herself to be there for her kids. In addition, she has many career opportunities that she wants to expand on, and this includes her role on this show too. She continued: “So it’s just kind of all, like, new and overwhelming. But we’re gonna figure out a way to manage it and, and we’ll work it out.” Let us hope that Kailyn can overcome this and get back to her usual self.
