He’s staying put, regardless of what his critics have to say about it. New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo says that he is no stepping down, despite an investigation that found he sexually harassed multiple women. But the governor says that he never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances. Cuomo’s conduct violated multiple federal and state laws. Here’s what you need to know.

The New York attorney general’s investigation into sexual harassment allegations against Cuomo found that he sexually harassed several women, according to Attorney General Letitia James.

She said that her investigation found that Cuomo engaged in “unwelcome and nonconsensual touching,” and made comments of a “suggestive” sexual nature. James said that the conduct created a “hostile work environment for women.” he report also found that the governor and his aides retaliated against at least one aide who came forward.

“Specifically, the investigation found that Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed current and former New York State employees by engaging in unwelcome and non-consensual touching and making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women,” James told reporters.

Addressing complaints that he inappropriately touched other people, Cuomo played a slideshow of photos showing him embracing several people over the years.

“I’ve been making the same gesture in public all my life. I actually learned it from my mother and from my father. It is meant to convey warmth, nothing more. Indeed, there are hundreds, if not thousands of photos of me using the exact same gesture,” he said.

Yet, the entire Democratic congressional delegation of New York has called on Cuomo to resign. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D) — who called for Cuomo to resign in March — renewed his call Tuesday.  “@NewYorkStateAG led a thorough & fair investigation. What I said in March stands. Governor Cuomo must resign,” Maloney said.
