Lance Bass has come out and expressed his support for Britney Spears’ right to be independent from the control of her father, Jamie Spears.
Lance Bass Fully Supports Britney Spears
The two have come across each other during Lance’s time in the hit boy band Nsync. It was during this time that Britney was dating Justin Timberlake. But since the band split, Lance has not been in touch with Britney.
Nevertheless, he knows enough to know that Britney is capable of handling her own destiny. In an interview on the ‘Heather Dubrow’s World’ podcast, he said: “I haven’t spoken to her for years. We’ve been kept away from each other for quite a while. I don’t know exactly what she needs, but I do know that she, to me — [from] what I see — is sane enough to pick her own people.”
Despite the overwhelming nature of Britney’s desire to be independent, she is being denied the chance. And Lance is fully aware of the dangers that can emerge when people get cornered in the entertainment industry.
He has spoken about this in the past when he decided to come out as gay and the pressures that were associated with that. But in this case, Lance sees it as being more than that. He cast doubt on whether the legal system was being equitable.
He added: “I believe that she needs to be away from the dad…To me, there’s a bigger picture here. The main thing that I’m concerned about is the court systems and this judge. If this is really true, then we have to look at this judge, right?” Regardless of whether the legal system is corrupt, Britney’s father should be aware that her daughter no longer wants his input.
This is irrespective of whether it is in her best interests or not. After all, Britney is old enough to make her decisions. And so far, she looks capable of expressing what she wants from her life. Her love life is in a great place, too, and her boyfriend Sam Ashgari has been there to help her for the last five years. Time will tell if Britney can ever be free to live her life.
