‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that fans have been hearing all sorts of good news lately- namely that their favorite daytime indulgence was renewed for not one, but two more seasons. Now, in a twist worthy of the best sudsers, the 56 year old franchise is expanding!
Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform has announced that it has ordered ‘Days of Our Lives’: Beyond Salem, a five-episode limited series spinoff!
If that wasn’t enough Salem drama for you, DOOL alum-turned–Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Lisa Rinna will be returning to the spin-off as the iconic Billie Reed!
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Spinoff “Beyond Salem” Limited Series Ordered at Peacock
The last time Rinna, or Billie graced the DOOL set was back in 2018 when she returned for a handful of episodes. Now she will reunite once again with co-stars Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), Drake Hogestyn (John Black) and James Reynolds (John Black).
More ‘Days of Our Lives’ cast members who have signed on for the spinoff are Jackée Harry (Paulina Price), Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady) Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston), Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera), Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant).
It has been teased by Peacock that “additional beloved characters” will turn up in the new series so can’t wait to hear who else might show up Beyond Salem- perhaps Patrick Muldoon, who played Austin Reed and whomRinna recently admit to having a torrid affair with- even though they played siblings on the screen.
The official logline for ‘Days of Our Lives’: Beyond Salem reads: “Over a long weekend, John & Marlena travel to Zurich, Ben & Ciara have a romantic getaway in New Orleans, Chad visits some old friends in Phoenix, and Abe, Paulina, Lani, and Eli vacation in Miami.
All find themselves embroiled in a mystery involving stolen jewels which, in the wrong hands, could cause dire consequences for Salem.
It’s a race against time for ISA agent Billie Reed as she crosses the globe in search of this missing treasure. Packed with all of the romance, action, drama, and surprises that only Days of our Lives can deliver, fans will spend a week with their favorite Salem supercouples and reconnect with many familiar faces along the way.”
Phoenix? Sounds like Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) may be involved, even though Smith JUST put out a statement over the weekend saying he will not return to Days…he didn’t say anything about being Beyond Salem, though…the little trickster.
Current Days head writer Ron Carlivati along with executive Ken Corday and Albert Alarr are all involved in the spin-off.
