So now they are all dipping? It looks like Britney Spears’ legal team is in limbo as multiple people, including her personal lawyer Sam Ingham, have resigned or are wanting to resign.
Following reports that her manager Larry Rudolph quit and Bessemer Trust has resigned as the singer’s co-conservator, it looks like Sam Ingham is wanting to quit this mess, too.
This all comes after Britney Spears’ heartbreaking testimony last week, in which she called her conservatorship “abusive” and admitted that she was so depressed and upset about her life that she cries herself to sleep every night. Here’s what you need to know.
Britney Spears’ Lawyer Sam Ingham Looking To Resign From Her Conservatorship Case
Apparently, Ingham is looking to pull the plug on his working relationship with Spears as he was apparently left “extremely upset” over claims she made during her court hearing.
She told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny at the time, “Ma’am, I didn’t know I could petition the conservatorship to end. I honestly didn’t know that.”
Yet, sources close to Ingham insist that he “regularly” gave Britney options, including “requesting that the conservatorship should end.”
Back in 2020, Ingham told a court that Spears is afraid of her father Jamie Spears, and that she will not perform again “if her father is in charge of her career.”
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Ingham is extremely upset at Britney’s statement in court … that she never knew she could end the conservatorship,” TMZ says, adding, “We’re told Ingham regularly gave Britney options, including requesting that the conservatorship should end, but she never wanted to pull the plug.”
Meanwhile, Bessemer Trust also stated that they believed that the singer was in the conservatorship voluntarily and had consented them to be a co-conservator.
“As a result of [Britney’s] testimony at the June 23 hearing, however, [Bessemer Trust] has become aware that the Conservatee objects to the continuance of her conservatorship and desires to terminate the conservatorship,” the documents stated. “Petitioner has heard the Conservatee and respects her wishes.”
