‘The Bachelorette’ find that Nick Viall made his approximately 10 millionth appearance on The Bachelor franchise this past week when he sat down with lead, Katie Thurston and a slew of her suitors as they opened their hearts, and mouths, spilling secrets and traumas for the viewers at home to gobble up.
But it’s Nick who is the one spilling secrets now, mainly about soon-to-join-the-cast, Blake Moynes.
Previews have shown Blake pulling a Lloyd Dobler, a la ‘Say Anything’, holding a boombox over his head in an effort to serenade the girl.
But Katie stepping out on to her balcony and asking what Blake is doing there are not the first words the two have spoken to each other. In fact, it may not even the first time the two saw each other in person!

Before her season aired, Katie admitted that Blake had slid into her DMs. “We had chatted before, but usually what happens is, like, the guys will reach out to the women once they’re eliminated and be like, ‘Good luck, you did great.’ Like very generic, you know? And so to see him, I was like, ‘Why is he here?’ Like, ‘What’s happening?’” she teased.
Now Nick tells us that Katie informed him, as they filmed their ‘here for the right reasons’ group date, that Blake had already arrived at the New Mexico resort where this season is ‘bubbled’.
“When I showed up, Blake was on the compound,” Nick confirmed. “I think Katie had met him. I don’t know for sure. She had told me about it and it was filmed. They didn’t use it, but it was filmed.”
Nick believes the two met but it was not shown as the episode was already chock full of drama, including poignant moments like Katie’s story of sexual assault, Michael’s story of his wife’s death from breast cancer and Thomas’ foot in mouth drama.
Being a late arrival for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette, Nick knows a thing or two about what Blake is in for as the other men lay eyes on him entering the mansion and competition.
Nick didn’t mince words, saying, “Blake is going to get crap, obviously.”
It’s kind of understood- this is the guy that fell in love with both Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams during the last, double header Bachelorette season.
“When he’s [saying], ‘I’m in love with Katie,’ it’s fair to question [it],” Nick explained, however, the podcaster believes Blake will go far. Nick himself was Kaitlyn’s runner up, no matter how unwelcomed he was by his fellow contestants.
Speaking of Kaitlyn…while we know Blake and host one, Tayshia are bound to cross paths during the season, did anyone get footage of Nick and host two, Kaitlyn together?
