Contrary to popular belief, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t totally on the outs with Queen Elizabeth. Even though they’ve gotten a lot of heat from the rest of the British Royal Family for airing out all of their dirty laundry in public, if there’s one person who will still accept their phone calls, it’s the Queen. Here’s what you need to know.
According to new reports, the Queen keeps a rare snap of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Buckingham Palace, just like she does with photos of other members of the royal family.
Many eagle-eyed fans noticed during the Queen’s first meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson – her first since the pandemic began back in March of 2020 – that there was a photo of Harry and Meghan in her collection of family photos.
Here’s Proof That Queen Elizabeth Doesn’t Hate Meghan Markle After All
The shot of the Sussexes was next to a bouquet of flowers. The picture was taken during their engagement celebration, but it was never shared with the public up until now.
And while the rest of the royals have been busy turning their backs on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a separate report says the Queen is hoping for them to attend her Platinum Jubilee Celebration next year.
A program of events featuring a parade, street parties and a live concert at Buckingham Palace will take place during a four-day holiday weekend in June of 2022 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne.
The Jubilee plans were revealed by the Palace on Wednesday, and feature a full slate of events in June that will likely be attended by the public.
And yes, the Queen is really hoping that her grandson Harry and his wife Meghan can make it for the festivities, too.
“Of course they’re invited, it’s a family event!” said one insider. Another tipster said that a lot can happen in the course of one year and that a lot that has been said and done might be forgiven by then.
