American entrepreneur, film producer and founder/creator of Girls Gone Wild, Joe Francis is currently rushing to Punta Mita to see what, if anything can be salvaged from the inferno engulfing his Mexican estate.

Th beachfront oasis, Casa Aramara–which has been a vacation spot for many celebrities, burned down late on Tuesday night.

Joe was not in town at the time the fire started, razing much of the estate to the ground. The place was not vacant however, with some 20 people renting the sprawling property. In addition to the vacation makers, 20 staff members were also on site. It has been reported that the renters are now housed in a nearby hotel.

At time of writing , there is no clear indication as to what started the blaze, however, the main house has been gutted, reportedly little more than a pile of ashes. The three smaller houses dotted along the property are intact, it is unknown if they suffered any damage at all.

Casa Aramara is somewhat of a celebrity mecca, with the likes of Ciara, the Kardashians, Jason Derulo, Selena Gomez, Eva Longoria, Lance Bass and Ashton Kutcher all staying at the beautiful estate.

Rental of the property makes up a large chunk of Francis’ income, even though Francis filed for bankruptcy in 2013. The bankruptcy was meant to block Wynn Resorts from seizing the assets of Francis’ Girls Gone Wild Entertainment Company for repayment of Francis’s gambling debts.

In May 2015, a U.S. District Court judge issued an arrest warrant for Francis after he failed to comply with terms of his bankruptcy agreement. Francis fled to Mexico.

At various times throughout his life he has been convicted of tax evasion, bribery, false imprisonment, assault causing great bodily injury, dissuading a witness, and record-keeping violations; and has pleaded no contest to child abuse and prostitution.
