Who to believe? Chrissy Teigen says that Michael Costello’s DM’s are fake. The model’s drama with the fashion designer began earlier this week when Michael Costello claimed that Chrissy bullied him so bad that she tried to end his career.
As a result, Michael says that he’s “traumatized, depressed and has thoughts of suicide” because of the model’s alleged bullying behavior years ago. Chrissy is now saying that the screenshots of a direct message that Chrissy had supposedly sent to Michael back in 2014 are fake. Here’s what you need to know.
Chrissy Teigen Says Michael Costello’s DMs Are Fake
In a lengthy post on Twitter on Friday night, Chrissy started it off by saying, “No idea what the fuck michael costello is doing. He just released a statement where he didn’t at ALL acknowledge how fake the dm’s were.”
She then released a statement that said, “Chrissy Teigen very clearly and contritely apologized for insensitive public tweets she made around a decade ago. She did not acknowledge nor apologize for sending private messages directing or encouraging self harm.”
Chrissy added, “When the supposed screenshots from 2014 were originally circulated last week, the name on Chrissy’s account was misspelled. Several media outlets recognized this and chose not to run it, since it was clearly manipulated. This week, the fabricated screenshots were cleaned up with the correct spelling of Chrissy’s social media handle; however, they could not actually be from 2014 because they feature elements that were not a part of the Instagram app in 2014.”
In a statement to the press, Michael Costello’s spokesperson said, “The fact that Chrissy Teigen’s team is desperately trying to prove the DM’s are fake and attempts to discredit Michael Costello, a victim of trauma and bullying by Chrissy Teigen both online and offline, confirms that she remains the same bully, despite her public apology.”
“Beyond the DMs and the public comments Chrissy Teigen left on Michael Costello’s Instagram for the world to see, there are emails and documents unreleased to the public which confirms Chrissy Teigen has gone beyond social media to blacklist Michael Costello offline, making him endure over seven years of suffering — mentally and financially,” Costtello’s spokesperson adds.
“Michael Costello is only one of the many victims who are living with long-lasting, unhealed traumas from Chrissy Teigen’s decade-long bullying behavior. Chrissy Teigen’s team has yet to reach out to us, or any of her other victims.”
Meanwhile, internet users seem to think that it’s time for John Legend to take his wife’s phone away. Many comments have included, “We have all been a witness to her negative post on social media about several people and topics. God only knows who she has targeted privately. Never understood why her opinion ever mattered,” along with, “All that you need to realize that Chrissy Teigen is a bully is to look at the TWITTER history. She has been bullying others for YEARS. I just don’t understand why she is famous to begin with. She is not attractive. She isn’t intelligent. She is incredibly mean and a perennial bully. Did she sleep with someone in the media?”
