The future of Chris Harrison’s Bachelor hosting career remains up in the air as it has been leaked he will not be back to host Bachelor In Paradise this summer.

Though that in itself was not a big shock to fans of the franchise, who guessed Harrison would not be allowed out of the naughty corner, the next part of the reveal raised eyebrows.

Harrison will be replaced by a roster of celebrity hosts- much like Jeopardy has been doing since the passing of longtime and beloved host, Alex Trebek.

At time of writing, offers are said to have been sent out to celebrities as the Bachelor In Paradise producers shop for talent. The only deal to close so far has been with comedian and Bachelor fan, David Spade.

Bachelor Nation alums are said to not be in the mix when it comes to prospective hosts, though it was originally speculated upon that a group of alums including Nick Viall, Jared Haibon, Wells Adams, Dean Unglert and Blake Horstmann, who were discovered vacationing together in Mexico, could have a hand in the hosting duties.

Those with insider knowledge of the on-going conversation in regards to Harrison returning to the franchise have said that no decision has been made yet and it seems viewer reaction for the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” which will be hosted by alums Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Britstowe, could help determine his fate.

It is not likely, if he is reinstated, that Harrison will return to host Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette. Young’s season will be next in line after Bachelor In Paradise, set to air after Katie Thurston’s season of the Bachelorette which premieres next Monday, June 7.

Fans of Harrison are keeping their fingers crossed the long-running host of the franchise will return for season 26 of The Bachelor which will air in January of 2022.

Variety reached out to ABC, however, shared that the network declined to comment about Harrison’s future with “The Bachelor” franchise. They also declined to comment on Bachelor In Paradise or Spade’s tenure as host.
