If it feels like it’s been a long time since we’ve last heard from the Duggars, it’s because it is. In fact, many reality television fans can’t help but notice that Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are no where to be found lately. This comes after reports said that Josh Duggar was arrested for possessing explicit child content. Here’s what you need to know.
It’s been two weeks since Josh Duggar was released on bail as he awaits his trial on charges that he downloaded and possessed child pornography. He is expected to remain under house arrest at a family friend’s home in northwest Arkansas.

He’s being restricted to the house at all times except for work, church, doctor’s appointments, meetings with his lawyer and court appearances. However, the judge did decide he can have “unlimited” visitation with his children — as long as his wife Anna Duggar is present at the time.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s eldest son was arrested but also plead not guilty to possession of child pornography last week. There was some speculation that Jim Bob might be bank rolling his son’s defense team.
The former reality television star is facing a minimum of 25 years in prison for the possession of child porn, but his parents want to make sure that never happens. Instead, they are hoping that all of the thoughts and prayers in the world can be rolled into one for their son.
Of course, many critics have weighed in about his situation on social media. Many of them commented with, “He essentially has nothing to look back at with pride nor does he have anything to look forward to.
The potential sentence, and only he knows his guilt, is very lengthy, literally a life sentence,” along with, “Honestly, what was the judge thinking? What is the point of letting him out on bail for a short time when it’s obvious he’s going to prison for years?”
Another critic wrote, “At the end of the day, as an adult, Josh is entirely responsible for his actions, but now I’m really looking at his mom and dad too. Had they actually got him treatment instead of sweeping the prior incident under the rug, I have to wonder if this would have really happened?”
So far Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have made no comments about their family’s future or Josh’s future for that matter.
